Tammy Smith is primarily a self taught artist. Her father was her earliest art teacher and her grandmother was her earliest mixed media teacher. She had her first business from the age of 17, making large scale stained glass windows and eventually be came an illustrator/designer at Hallmark Cards Inc.. Throughout this time, she also illustrated children's books, did freelance editorial illustration and surface pattern design. After Hallmark she began a fine art career making mixed media wire and clay sculptures that she sold at art fairs around the country.
