Designer Kate Dittmann believes she has the coolest career in the world! She gets to draw elephants and monkeys for a living, and hugging stuffed animals is literally part of her job. Her love of art blossomed as a child. Kate says, “My grandpa first introduced me to art. He would take his grandchildren into his workshop and hold our hand in his and let us ‘help him’ paint.” \n\nAs a DEMDACO artist designing products for kids and babies, Kate explains the everyday moments shared with her family are at the center of what she does: “My nieces and nephews have inspired some of our best-selling products ... whether it was watching my nephew Reilly ask his mom for cuddle time, or watching my other nephew Pippin become enthralled with the world of dinosaurs.”\n\nAlongside her boyfriend and three cats, Kate is always improving what she endearingly calls her “little-bitty house.” Be it “putting up drywall or inventing a new drink to share with friends,” Kate’s life is rich, apparent in her work that features huggable-soft textiles, warm tones and messages that connect children and their loved ones.
