The Artist
As a child, Maret Hensick was always drawing pictures and playing with colors. But it was her family’s move to Europe at the age of 9 that ultimately influenced her life passion. Visiting museums, churches, and castles wherever they traveled offere d Maret and her sisters an education in art they would never forget. While showing her work at the Surtex Show in New York, Maret’s light and lively style and strong color sense attracted the eye of the gift and paper industry. The back woods of Ma ine find Maret at home withher artist-husband and alovely, quiet backdrop for all the colors she applies to her work. She takes inspiration from winter travels to landscapes and cultures near and far, and from her generous summer flower garden that r eminds her always of the beauty and freshness of life.
